A three-day fair organised by the US Embassy in Thailand opened at Bangkok’s Parc Paragon on 23 October to mark the United States’ 250th anniversary. American Fair combines food and music with cultural entertainment and technology activities.

US ambassador to Thailand Sean O’Neill led the opening ceremony alongside Thai officials. He said Bangkok was the final stop after fairs in Hat Yai, Nakhon Ratchasima and Chiang Mai. The events took their inspiration from American state fairs, where communities meet for food, games and entertainment.

The programme includes a mechanical bull, face painting and a sticker hunt called Freedom 250 Explorer Passport. At SCBX Next Tech, an activity uses NASA satellite imagery to spell out visitors’ names. Discussions featuring business and technology leaders are also being held there.

Food offerings include American apples, cheeses from California and massaman curry prepared with American beef. Vehicles from Ford and motorcycles from Harley-Davidson are on display. Nene Royal is scheduled to perform on 24 October at 19.00.

Admission is free, with the fair operating daily between 11.00 and 21.00 until 25 October at Parc Paragon, Siam Paragon.
