Thailand plans tourism campaigns across five priority markets
The tourism authority is seeking 6.2% growth in ASEAN visitor revenue and a 4.3% increase in arrivals for fiscal 2027.

Thailand is planning tourism campaigns tailored to Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Taiwan as it seeks higher visitor spending. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has set fiscal 2027 growth targets of 6.2% for revenue from ASEAN tourists and 4.3% for arrivals from the bloc.
An Oct. 23 statement from the Commerce Ministry outlined the strategy, which follows Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Suphajee Suthumpun’s policy to coordinate the ministries responsible for commerce, culture, tourism and sports.
The Vietnamese campaign will emphasise family trips and shopping. In Malaysia, TAT plans to promote dining, shopping and visits to secondary cities, while its Indonesian outreach will highlight wellness and Muslim-friendly travel. The Singapore campaign will focus on high-spending tourists seeking quality travel experiences.
For Taiwan, the authority plans to highlight Thai cuisine and culinary trips. Its “Go Thai Be Free” campaign will also present the country as welcoming to LGBTQ+ visitors.
According to The Nation, Suphajee’s policy seeks lasting economic gains from Thailand’s hosting of the 2026 annual meetings of the IMF and World Bank by linking tourism with Thai products and cultural influence. TAT has presented seven Bangkok tourism routes and 20 travel programmes through the Association of Thai Travel Agents to encourage participants to stay longer and spend more.
