Green Vietnam Festival draws students to recycling activities
Around 50 booths feature businesses, while visitors can swap recyclable waste for gifts and explore youth-led environmental projects.

Students and young adults joined recycling demonstrations and waste-sorting activities at Green Vietnam Festival 2026 at Phan Dinh Phung Park. The event brings together Vietnamese businesses and foreign-invested companies across around 50 booths.
Visitors brought plastic bottles, aluminium cans and used paper to exchange for gifts. Organisers said the exchange was designed to encourage people to separate waste where it is generated and make environmental protection easier to participate in.
Le Phan Thanh Truc, an 11th-grade student at Marie Curie High School, said she received a small plant after sorting her waste into the designated bins. She hopes to use her school’s social media channels to share environmental messages with fellow students.
Youth-led environmental projects also featured at the festival, alongside displays of sustainable materials and a food section presenting environmentally conscious options. Outdoor music performances were scheduled for the evening.
Green Vietnam was launched by Tuoi Tre online newspaper, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment’s Department of Climate Change, and the Packaging Recycling Organization Vietnam, with other partners. Its year-round programme includes activities on renewable energy, circular economy practices, sustainable agriculture and producer responsibility.
