Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in Vietnam has won two honours at the 2026 World Travel Awards: Asia’s Leading National Park 2026 and Vietnam’s Leading Nature Destination 2026. The awards were presented in the Maldives on 27 September at the event’s 33rd edition.

Deputy director Din Huy Tri said the recognition brought a greater responsibility to conserve the park’s natural environment and protect its World Heritage values, according to VnExpress. He also expressed hope that the awards would introduce more international travellers to Phong Nha-Ke Bang, Quang Tri and Vietnam.

The park received the same honours in 2025. Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards selects winners through online voting by tourism industry professionals and consumers.

Recognised by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Site, Phong Nha-Ke Bang contains large caves, rainforest, underground rivers and karst landscapes, as well as diverse wildlife. It covers 123,326 hectares, with a buffer zone of 220,055 hectares, and shares a border with Hin Nam No National Park in Laos.
