Thai restaurants win French, Indian and Chinese cuisine world titles
Restaurants in Bangkok and Phuket received honours at the 2026 World Culinary Awards, announced in Jamaica on October 14.

Three restaurants in Thailand took global honours for French, Indian and Chinese cooking at the 2026 World Culinary Awards. Chef’s Table and Breeze in Bangkok, along with Tambu in Phuket, were among the winners announced on October 14 at the awards’ seventh annual ceremony in Jamaica.
Chef’s Table, located in Bangkok’s lebua at State Tower hotel, received the World’s Best French Cuisine Restaurant award. Executive chef Vincent Thierry oversees its contemporary French cooking, with tasting-menu dishes including Atlantic scallop accompanied by Jerusalem artichoke and Périgord black truffle.
Breeze, which occupies the same hotel, won the Chinese cuisine title. According to its website, the restaurant’s food reflects Cantonese cooking and executive chef Sam Pang’s Malaysian-Cantonese background. Its tasting menu opens with dim sum and uses ingredients sourced from Hokkaido.
Tambu, at the Avista Hideaway Phuket Patong hotel, was named the World’s Best Indian Cuisine Restaurant. Chef Saurabh Sachdeva leads the restaurant, where Indian dishes are prepared over charcoal. Its eight-course tasting menu includes crab kulcha, butter garlic slipper lobster and lamb chop barrah.
Two further global awards went to Thai restaurants: Sirocco by lebua received the World’s Best Rooftop Restaurant title, while Mezzaluna at lebua won World’s Best Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant.
