Artists, businesses and student volunteers have helped create a peace education mural at Universidade da Paz (UNPAZ) in Dili, Timor-Leste. The work is the third mural project organised by the international peace NGO Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL).

Four local partners supported the project. Vinod Patel supplied paint, while Jack’s of Timor-Leste provided caps for students and other volunteers. Artists from Arte Moris and Sene Art Group contributed their skills to the painting, with Sene Art Group also donating brushes.

The mural uses designs and teaching material from HWPL’s peace education textbooks. It belongs to the wider Peace City Dili initiative, which aims to place messages about peace in public spaces where residents can encounter them during everyday activities.

HWPL began the mural programme at the Xanana Sports Center in 2023 and completed a second work in Kakaulidun in 2024. An HWPL representative credited cooperation among young people, arts groups and local businesses for making the latest project possible.
