Bangkok’s Siam Amazing Park to close for six months after flooding
Management estimates ฿100 million in lost revenue after floodwater submerged almost the entire amusement and water park.

Siam Amazing Park in Bangkok will suspend operations for six months for renovation and inspections of all its rides after five days of flooding caused severe damage, according to Bangkok Post.
Wuthichai Luangamornlert, managing director of Siam Park City Co. Ltd., said the flooding was the worst the park had experienced, Nation Thailand reported. Almost the whole site was submerged, compared with about 30 per cent during the 2011 floods.
Management estimates lost revenue at around ฿100 million, Wuthichai said. That estimate covers the September–October school holiday period and activities planned for the end of the year.
Once the floodwater has fully receded, the park will assess the damage in detail to support discussions with financial institutions about funding rehabilitation. The 48-hectare amusement and water park was established in November 1980.
Bangkok authorities declared the capital a disaster-affected area on 26 September after nearly 300 mm of rain fell over 48 hours, flooding major roads. The disruption comes as Thailand prepares for its peak tourism season, with a target of 33 million international visitors by year-end.
