Vietjet Thailand sets 9 October start for Bangkok–Kuala Lumpur flights
The airline’s first Malaysian route will connect Suvarnabhumi and Kuala Lumpur International airports using a Boeing 737-8.

Vietjet Thailand plans to begin a daily Bangkok–Kuala Lumpur service on 9 October 2026, its first route serving Malaysia. The airline announced the addition on 4 June 2026 as part of its plans to expand its fleet and network.
A Boeing 737-8 will operate between Suvarnabhumi Airport and Kuala Lumpur International Airport. In local time, flight VZ680 will leave Bangkok at 11am and reach Kuala Lumpur at 2.10pm. The return service, VZ681, will depart Kuala Lumpur at 3.15pm and arrive in Bangkok at 4.30pm.
The airline’s chief executive said Malaysia’s expanding investment, trade and industrial sectors informed the choice of destination. He said the service would support business travel, trade and investment between the two countries.
Malaysia also provides a substantial share of Thailand’s overseas visitors. According to Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Malaysians ranked second among foreign visitor groups, recording more than 1 million arrivals during the first four months of 2026.
Vietjet Thailand said it expects delivery of 16 additional Boeing 737-8 aircraft during the second and third quarters of 2026. It plans to use them to increase frequencies on popular routes and introduce short-haul, medium-haul and connecting services.
