Rozita Rohaizad will take the title role when Tok Bidan Somah 2 – Extended Version returns on November 1 at the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) Auditorium. Directed by Nelly Ahmad, the production follows an initial run in July.

Tamu Lestari Solutions is bringing back the play with additional scenes and a cast that includes television drama actors, performers with disabilities and senior citizens. Persatuan Silat Gayong Malaysia will also give a performance.

The story takes place in Kampung Sirusa, where Somah faces schemes by her rival Sujenah, played by Dahliati Alirudin. Sujenah and her husband Jamlid stir up trouble and rumours. Aufa Aziz portrays Somah in her younger years.

The production seeks to revive Malay storytelling traditions, etiquette and customs. Nelly said she hoped it would draw audiences from different racial backgrounds to experience traditional Malay culture, while offering both spectators and performers an educational experience alongside entertainment. Rozita, the daughter of actress Mariani, returns to theatre in the lead role.
