Tourism brought Phuket ฿399.96 billion during January–September 2026, a fall of about 1% from a year earlier. Four international airlines are preparing to introduce direct services before the high season.

The island received 10.25 million visitors over the nine months, a year-on-year decrease of 1.57%, said Siriwan Siharat, director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand's Phuket office.

The domestic market expanded, with Thai visitor numbers rising 0.89% to 2.65 million. Revenue from those travellers reached ฿30.47 billion, an increase of 1.8%.

Overseas arrivals, by contrast, fell 2.4% to 7.6 million, and revenue from that group dropped 1.22% to ฿369.49 billion. Russia retained its position as Phuket's leading foreign market. Arrivals from China increased by 10.75% to 501,045.
