Vietnam’s Phu Quoc has placed first among Asian islands for a second consecutive year in the US edition of Condé Nast Traveller’s Readers’ Choice Awards. Its score of 95.26 points in the 2026 poll put it above destinations including Bali, Boracay and Palawan.

Other islands finishing behind Phu Quoc included Malaysia’s Langkawi and Thailand’s Koh Samui and Phuket. Phu Quoc ranked 8th in Asia in 2023 and 2nd in 2024 before taking first place in 2025. That year, it scored 95.51 points and was among the three highest-scoring islands worldwide.

The annual awards ask readers to assess destinations and tourism services around the world. The 39th edition received 798,867 votes. Eligibility depends on meeting minimum requirements for both response numbers and overall scores.

Readers give ratings on a 5-point scale, which are then converted to a 100-point index. Island assessments cover scenery, beaches, food culture, service standards and hospitality.
