Ketamine Taskforce has announced a series of initiatives intended to raise awareness about the efficacy of ketamine therapy in the treatment of complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) and major depression.

The Ketamine Taskforce, a dedicated volunteer-run entity, has recently unveiled a comprehensive campaign aimed at enhancing access to vital mental health and chronic pain treatments for all who need access to Ketamine, especially veterans and first responders. Central to their mission is the adoption of insurance coverage for ketamine therapy for this demographic.

In parallel, the Ketamine Taskforce is coordinating with a new organization, "Healing Our Heroes Foundation" a nonprofit dedicated to assisting veterans and service members in managing PTSD. A fundraising initiative is underway to support more veterans affected by major depression, PTSD, and suicidal thoughts to partake in Ketamine Retreats, incorporating therapies like yoga, meditation, and breathwork alongside ketamine treatments. The first of these retreats was successfully held in Hawaii.
"After our first retreat in Hawaii, we realized how important these healing retreats are and that we can better serve our veterans with the support of Healing Our Heroes Foundation by eventually building our very own healing retreat center in South Florida," Ketamine Tasforce's founder and president Kimberly Juroviesky said. "We are planning to try and raise 5 million dollars to build such a center," she added.

Another ambitious project by the Ketamine Taskforce is the creation of "The Forgotten Veteran," a documentary focusing on the struggles and recovery journeys of female veterans through Ketamine therapy. This film aims to highlight the effectiveness of Ketamine in improving mental health and draw attention to the specific challenges faced by women in the military. Despite private Insurance and Medicare's current stance on not covering Ketamine for Major Depressive Disorder, PTSD, and Chronic Pain, the film seeks to shift perceptions and advocate for Ketamine's potential in reducing the alarming suicide rates, which stand at nearly 1000 lives lost daily.
The inspiration behind the Ketamine Taskforce stemmed from the experiences of its five founding women, who personally witnessed the transformative impact of Ketamine. All proceeds garnered by the Taskforce are channeled towards educating medical professionals and the public on Ketamine's safe use and funding the production of "The Forgotten Veteran."
In a parallel initiative, "Healing Our Heroes" Foundation is set to launch a fundraising hike on November 11th, 2023. Five veterans will trek 105 miles from Miami's Wonderland Conference Ice Palace to Hobe Sound, aiming to raise $105,000. "Our objective is to honor those who've sacrificed for us by addressing this growing mental health crisis," says Kimberly Juroviesky, a founder of "Healing Our Heroes" and a United States Air Force Veteran.
Established in 2023 by a group of doctors and veterans, "Healing Our Heroes" is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focusing on the mental health of those serving on the front lines, whether in healthcare, the military, or government agencies like the FBI and CIA. Following the success of its inaugural retreat in Hawaii in September 2023, the organization plans to expand these retreats to Hawaii, Florida, and the West Coast.
