Common Sense Wild Horse Sanctuaries in Nevada

Defund/eliminate the BLM Wild horse program

Carson City, Nevada Aug 29, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Wild Horse Warrior.org has submitted this common sense plan repeatedly to Secretary Haaland of the Department of the Interior, Tracy Stone Manning the Director of the Bureau of Land Management and Holle Waddell the Manager of the BLM Wild Horse and Burro program.  Instead of helicopter roundups which recently killed 39 wild horses in Nevada's Antelope complex the BLM should be establishing wild horse sanctuaries in Northern Nevada using this plan.

1. Allocate 20-40 acres per wild horse and release the 60,000 wild horses now held in pens. The BLM controls 56,000,000 acres of Nevada land and this would mean the Sanctuary would only be 10% of that land.

2. Stop killing horses by running them to death and causing them to be injured and killed every year.  Roundups are not needed and a $150,000,000 per year failed plan by the DOI/BLM who wish to placate cattle ranchers.

3. Make this a self-sufficient program by establishing an education center, lodge and tour program for tourists.

4. Start a social media and advertising marketing program to make it a popular tourist attraction in Northern Nevada  (The Humane Society and ASPCA collect over $400,000,000 by running ads for donations pointed at animal lovers--which includes about 70+% of Americans).

5. Establish Corporate partnerships with foundations like the Subaru Foundation which has donated $30,000,000 to the ASPCA over the last decade and people like PETA, Animal Wellness Foundation, Humane Society, Ford Motor Company and grants.

6. This is a self-sustaining plan with budgets, marketing and sales plans and all of the necessary steps to make it successful and stop the federal government from continuing to kill via roundups, terrorize via helicopters and use failed management practices to "protect" these beautiful animals.
